Originating from Europe and Western Asia. Forms a basal rosette of wrinkled, aromatic leaves and sends up tall spikes of violet-blue flowers in late spring to summer. It thrives in sunny, well-drained soils and attracts bees and butterflies. Looks great growing between ornamental grasses.
