A smaller perennial variety of Verbascum, 'Violetta' produces airy spires of deep violet-purple flowers with golden stamens and a darker central eye. Blooming from late spring through to late summer, the delicate blooms stand on slender stems above a low rosette of rich green and purple-tinged veined leaves. More compact than many other verbascums, ‘Violetta’ is an excellent choice adding vertical interest to the middle of a border.
